Rigid Collar @ SPOON TYPE 1 Japan

Get some free time to visit TYPE 1 today and i "ter"buy a set of Rigid Collar..i'm going to install them tomorrow so cannot share the feeling by using this popular SPOON RIGID COLLAR yet..willing to share here after installation is complete.

i'm very happy cause my beloved bluebakuhatsu has been checked by TYPE 1 today and they give some useful advice about my engine modification...so far they said that my engine is in good health as well..Thanks to TYPE 1 again!!

Mugen thermostat operates at a lower temperature compared to the original thermostat. It prevents engine power loss by minimizing rapid water-temperature rises under harsh conditions such as during circuit driving. The use of a flow-control-type valve prevents hunting, thereby achieving rapid stabilization of the water temperature (the engine warms up within a short period).

Operating temperature: 68C (STD.: 76-80C)
Full-throttle acceleration temperature: 81C (STD.: 90C)

The blowby vapors that end up in an engine's crankcase contain moisture as well as combustion byproducts and unburned fuel vapors. The crankcase is sealed to prevent the escape of these gases into the atmosphere, but the vapors must be removed to prevent oil contamination that leads to sludge formation. The positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) system siphons these vapors from the crankcase and routes them into the intake manifold so they can be reburned in the engine.
The main component in the PCV system is the PCV valve, which is usually located in the valve cover. A hose connects the PCV valve to the intake manifold. A second hose between the air cleaner and crankcase or other valve cover (V6 or V8 applications) provides fresh air to help flush the vapors out of the crankcase. Some engines have a separate air filter for the PCV breather hose located inside the air cleaner.
The PCV valve is a spring-loaded valve with a specific orifice size designed to restrict the amount of air that's siphoned from the crankcase into the intake manifold. This is necessary because air drawn through the valve from the crankcase has a leaning effect on the fuel mixture much the same as a vacuum leak. So air flow through the valve must be controlled within certain limits. At idle, air flow is reduced because little blowby is produced. When the engine is cruising and vacuum is high, airflow through the PCV valve is at a maximum to purge the blowby vapors from the crankcase.
It's important to note that PCV valves are sized for specific engine applications. The wrong PCV valve for an application can flow too much or too little air causing driveability problems. Varnish deposits can clog the valve, so replacement for preventative maintenance is recommended (every 50,000 miles usually).
Not all engines have PCV valves. Some (like Ford Escort, GM FWD cars with the Quad Four engine, etc.) ventilate the crankcase with a small breather hose and calibrated orifice. There is no spring-loaded PCV valve. On these applications, no maintenance is usually necessary.

# The comparison with ENDLESS MX72, HC-CS have their own characteristic for me, it's more controllable than MX72, less dust, but the initial brake is low than the MX72.

# for me,its better than MX72 because i feels i can control the car well especially when braking on a corner under 120-140 km/h while MX72 have too good initial brake potential so its just like i need to control my brake pedal to not push too hard or too soft for having a smooth heels and toe. 

#since it's temperature is 50-800 and more controllable , so its matching for those who running the car on track. Hope i can try it on Tsukuba Circuit for the next run =)

Big Bang Boom !!!

Why Big Bang Boom??becoz it's cost me a lot of fulus(money) for this time.hahaha


First of all,i would like to start with the OH gearbox. Since 2002,from the first day that the car cames out from the dealer until 2011,the gearbox had done their job for around 10years and they started sounds 'clicking' calling for overhaul.


first,i checked the gearbox at Honda Dealer Minumaku to ensure what the 'clicking' sound is and where it come from.After a day i left my car to dealer,they found that it's come from the gearbox and they started expecting the bearing in the gearbox had worned.So,alang2 mencelup perkasam,this is the time to changed everything that can be change when you remove the gearbox.Melihatkan budget,i decided to change the EXEDY clutch,EXEDY lightweight flywheel, SPOON final drive 5.1,MUGEN engine mounts kit and also all the OEM bearing in the gearbox.


THE MAIN PROBLEM: clicking sound comes from gearbox and only can hear when the aircond kick on,then when i press the clucth,the sounds gone..cannot hear the sound when i switch off the aircond or aircond is kick off...


After a week,Honda dealer called me to pick up my car (already installed with SPOON Final drive 5.1,a new EXEDY clutch kit,new EXEDY lightweight flywheel,MUGEN engines mounts and all new gearbox bearing)...i expecting the sounds had gone BUT....the clicking sound is still there..=(


what should i do??yes,when i'm checking the bearings,one of them had died...but why the clicking sound is still there??


I send back my car to Honda Dealer for re-check...they remove the gearbox and rechecked everything...the results is the MAIN SHAFT got problems...so,as the second times removing the gearbox,i'm using this opportunity to fully OH the gearbox,changing all the bad things there and YES the result is superb!!(now i'm using ULTRA MTF-III oil for gearbox)

why not J's?why not SPOON?why not....?but why EXEDY?i'm choosing as EXEDY becoz i'm using EXEDY clutch,becoz it's still a good performance parts while it is value for money...

For a ten years using the OEM mounts,this is the time to change for a new one and just upgrade it to MUGEN mounts kit since it's just nice for a daily driving and sometimes for track.(its not too hard for me and just a little vibration on dashboard)

HKS Low Position Rail Recaro + Gear Lever Extension(CUSTOM)

As the title,i just buy and change the seat rail to low position seat rail (dun have enough money to have a fully bucket seat).After doing some review on MINKARA,i came to a conclusion to choose HKS Kansai Low Position Seat Rail.The Gear Level Extension is from our fellow dc5 member Mr. Andrew,what i can say is the cream of the crop!!

DIXCEL Front Brake Rotor

Another the most important parts that i aim is the brake rotor..Since 2001,the last owner never change it,i decided to change to DIXCEL SD rotor while OEM brake rotor is PD (plane disk).

SEEKER's suspension kit

After a few month i'm using the Mugen Sus Kit,i have changed to SEEKER's fully adjustable suspension to fulfill my dreams having a lowerd car.hehe.There is some review about SEEKER's fully adjustable suspension.

SEEKER's sus:
- why Seeker's?because from my review,there's a lot of racer in japan using this sus in their Integra DC5R.
- Actually,SEEKER's fully adjustable sus is RG suspension kit but maybe its approved by Seeker's as a Honda Tuner
- Swift ball spring
- SEEKER's spring rates: F:10kg & R:12kg
- Fully adjustable hard/soft F: 5 R:7

My Review after installation:
# As my expected,it is stiff on the road but very grip when hard cornering
# Very smooth and car is gripping the road as well on the highway cruise
# Stable on the touge road
# lowerd the car for front around 1cm gap between tyre and fender while rear is around 1.5cm
# Very difficult to set the allignment once u lowerd ur DC5R especially front,so this time i'm setting mines with -2.5 degree camber for front and 0 for toe.The camber can't to be set on -2.5 degree and above make me worried about the tyres.
#So,the next parts need to change is RCA(Roll Cantre Adjuster) and the End rod bar to have -2.5 degree front camber bcoz im concerned about the tyres..=)

As usual when weeked is coming,there is nothing to do and of course will get boring if didnt fill up with some activities.Just ordered some stuff to install to my blue dc5r and here is SIMOTA racing air intake.Putting out the stock intake system is not to hard than pay the labour for it.
